Terms of use
Version of 2026-11-07.
The app
The Otter helps a family follow and coordinate support for a relative. The app is offered free of charge, as is, for personal and family use.
Not a medical or emergency service
The Otter replaces neither a health professional’s advice nor an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911. Reminders may not arrive (phone off, network, settings): do not rely on them alone for an essential dose.
Your account
You are responsible for your account, for what you enter and for protecting your phone. Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else used it.
The circle
What you add is visible to circle members, according to their role. Invite only people you trust, and enter information about your relative only with their consent or that of the person who represents them.
Acceptable use
Do not use the app to harm anyone, to upload illegal content, or to try to access another circle’s data. We may suspend an account that does.
Liability
We do our best for the app to work and protect your data, without being able to guarantee it is always available or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage related to its use.
Stopping
You may stop using the app and ask for your account to be deleted at any time (confidentialite@theottercare.com).
Changes and governing law
If these terms change, we will tell you in the app before they apply. They are governed by the laws of Quebec and Canada.
